I Already Know That!

"It is what we think we know already that often prevents us from learning."~Claude Bernard

I hear people all the time that say "I already know that." Those are the worst words ever put together if you are interested in growing and learning. What happens in your brain is that when you say that or even think that, learning stops. Your brain actually limits learning from taking place because of your thoughts. That is the worst thing that can happen to anyone, they stop learning.

What have you learned this week? Anything? Most people stop learning as soon as they get out of school. Sure, they learn how to do a job, but once in that job, learning stops. If you are interested in growing your business, spend 30 minutes a day learning more about your industry, who you sell to, why they buy from you and what makes you different from all the other people that do the same thing you do.  Learn how to market to them.  If you will do this for 30 minutes a day within 6 months, you will double your business!  It will also show that you are committed to growing your business and not just interested in it.

Keep learning new things. Keep stretching your horizons and getting out of your comfort zone. It is there that real growth and learning takes place. Join us at the "Your Prospects Aren't Paying Attention To You" workshop.  You'll learn how to get your prospects to pay attention to you.  There are still a few seats left (for you procrastinators)

Make It Happen, Let It Happen, Wonder What Happened

"When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened." ~John M. Richardson Jr.

Which one are you??? I know, you are one of those who make it happen, right? But really, do you make it happen or do you just say that you do? It's real easy to say, but much harder to do and when things get hard, we tend to not do them. Because it's too hard or will take too long or we are not committed to doing it, so we don't. Then we just let life happen to us.

Are you interested or are you committed?  See, because if your just interested, you will do things when they are easy or you can do them quickly.  If you are only interested when things get hard, you will quit.  If you are committed, you will do whatever it takes.  No excuses. Period!!

It's an interesting thing about the future...you can create it!  Especially when it comes to your business.  Do you want to be one of those who wondered what happened to their business or would you rather (make it happen) create a stable business.  If that's you, join us Thursday at the "Your Prospects Aren't Paying Attention To You" workshop.  You'll learn how to MAKE IT HAPPEN, not just let it happen!

Interested, Uncommitted People Have No Future

Are you interested or committed?

Most people are interested in their business. Oh, they will say that they are committed to their business but the proof is right there in front of them. Here's the difference between being interested and being committed. If you are interested, you will do what is convenient or easy to do.  If you are committed, you will do what you have to do. There's a huge difference between the two. Think about that...

What do you HAVE to do in your business or in your life? Do you stretch yourself to do what you have to do or do you only do what you can do? Brian Tracy said “Make a total commitment to your company, your job, your career and your life. Uncommitted people have no future.” Wow, "Uncommitted people have no future."

Action:
Realize that it's never too late to make a commitment to your business and your life. Your past does not dictate your future. It's your choice, always.  Here's another thought, "Interested people have no future."

Are You Making Little Plans?

“Make no little plans. They have no Magic to stir Men's blood.”~Daniel H. Burnham

How big are your plans? Are they real big or are they just normal size? Why? I work with clients and ask them to come up with a BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) and usually, without fail, they come up with a goal that is reachable with a little more effort, but not one that would require too much work to achieve.

Average plans will not cause you to do whatever you need to do to accomplish it. You will quit on average plans because your reason for doing it doesn't stir your soul...oh, sure, it stirs your soul you say...right. Be honest with yourself.

Another question I ask my clients is "Are you interested or committed to growing your business?" See, when you are interested in growing your business you will do the things that are easy to do and don't require the heavy lifting that's required when you are COMMITTED. When you are committed, you will do whatever it takes to get the job done!

The world is waiting for you to play big, not small. Your average plans will keep you right where you are...average. I suppose that you could say that in being mediocre, you are always at your best...but that's a backhanded compliment that's not worthy of you. Do you realize that you are worthy of playing big? Yes, YOU are worthy to play big, so show the world what you are here to show the world. Don't hide behind anything, step out and claim your greatness!

Are You Just Interested Or Are You Committed?

Are you interested or committed?

Are You Wondering What Happened?

"When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened." ~John M. Richardson Jr.

Then we just let life happen to us.

Here's the thing about letting things happen to you. If you don't have a plan, you will have to be a part of someone elses plan. And guess what, their plan doesn't have much for you. I hope that you aren't one of the ones who just wondered what happened. Everything happens for a reason.

I talk to a lot of business owners who say that they are committed to growing their business, committed to creating the business of their dreams.  The problem?  Most business owner are only interested, they are not committed.  What's the difference?  Interested business owners will do things when they are convenient however committed business owners will do things NO MATTER WHAT!!

Go about today and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN! Don't go through this day just letting it happen to you. Create the life that you've always wanted.
