In Service Of Your Passions?

How do you view what you do for business? Is it just a way to "pay the bills?" Is it just something that you fell into and stayed there? Is it what someone else  told you that you would be good at so you did it? Or do you view it as a way to "develop the human spirit?" What a great way to look at the work that you do. Keep on developing the human spirit.

Sir Richard Steele said "People spend their lives in the service of their passions instead of employing their passions in the service of their lives." Think about that...spending your life in service to your passions as opposed to employing those passion in the service of others. In any business, if you are not serving your customers, they won't be staying around.

Personal Development Precedes Business Development

Are you working harder on yourself than your job? Really? How are you doing that?

We all try to work hard at our jobs, but how much time do we really spend working on improving OURSELVES? Sure you might go to the gym, run, exercise and eat right, but how much time are you spending on improving YOUR MIND? Are you learning new words to expand your vocabulary? Are you learning new and better ways to make decisions? Are you learning new things? Maybe a new language, studying about history of The United States, not the history you were taught in government schools...

Personal Development precedes Business Development, so if you are struggling in your business, or just stuck, get back to working on yourself!  You cannot improve your business without first improving you.

Every little bit of time we work on improving ourselves gets paid back with compounded interest, so spend a little time working on YOU. And then, start spending more time working on YOU. You will be surprised and happy about the results...

You have a perspective that is unique and valuable. No on else has your unique viewpoint!
No one else has the same valuable insights that you have.
Share the insights and energy that come from that perspective.

You have feelings and longings that flow from the core of who you are. Express those feelings and fulfill those longings in your own special way. The world is waiting to hear those feelings and longings. Don't deprive the world of that opportunity to learn.

There is great treasure in your authenticity. Your authenticity is what brings the world to your doorstep. There are beautiful possibilities that spring from the genuine person you are. Don't hide them, let us all share in those possibilities.

Through you, life experiences itself in a way that is unique and special. If you don't share it with the world, that unique and special experience dies with you, never to be shared. Don't cheat the world from your uniqueness!

Use this opportunity to make a difference in a way that only you can do.

"I Already Know That"

"It is what we think we know already that often prevents us from learning." ~ Claude Bernard

I hear people all the time that say "I already know that." Those are the worst words ever put together if you are interested in growing and learning. What happens in your brain is that when you say that or even think that, learning stops. Your brain actually limits learning from taking place because of your thoughts. That is the worst thing that can happen to anyone, they stop learning.

What have you learned this week? Anything? Most people stop learning as soon as they get out of school. Sure, they learn how to do a job, but once in that job, learning stops. If you are interested in growing your business, spend 30 minutes a day learning more about your industry, who you sell to, why they buy from you and what makes you different from all the other people that do the same thing you do.

Keep learning new things. Keep stretching your horizons and getting out of your comfort zone. It is there that real growth and learning takes place. Join us tomorrow and keep learning new things.

What Are You Putting In?

"It is not the hours we put in the job, it is what we put into the hours that count."~Sidney Madwed

What are you putting into your hours? Is it 100% or less? Why?

John Wooden said that "If you give 60% today, you can't give 140% tomorrow to make up for it." There's a misconception that we can give more than 100% You can't! In fact, most people who are told that they are giving more than 100% are most likely giving 95% because you can't give more than everything you have.

Think about your average day. How much are you giving? 60%? 70%? 90%? Are you really or are you just fooling yourself. Here's an example. The 2 days before you go on vacation, you work really hard to get things done. You might even be working at 90%. Why did it take you that long to work that hard?

Challenge yourself to every day, give as much as you can. Your life will change for the better.
