You Have A Choice

"You may not be able to control the events that occur during the day, especially those events that are unexpected and challenging. But, you definitely have a choice whether you are going to allow these events to ruin your day, and how you are going to face these challenges." ~Barry Gottlieb

Do you ever get up "on the wrong side of the bed?" Ever had a "bad hair day?"  Ever feel like everything is going wrong and it will never get better?  How do you handle them? Do you let them ruin your day or do you change your mindset before leaving the house? You do have a choice in how you respond to those events. Be sure to exercise that choice. Don't stay stuck in that negativity.

Too many people have allowed themselves to stay stuck in that negativity.  They enjoy being there!  It's the pain they know which will always be less than the pain they don't know.  If that's you, start counting your blessings.  You're alive.  You live in the greatest country in the world (the one everyone else in the world wants to come to) and so on.  You could probably count 100 blessings in 5 minutes.  Well, that 5 minutes would be the best time spent to get you out of that negativity.

Stephen Covey said "If you start to think the problem is 'out there,' stop yourself. That thought is the problem." Too often we get caught up in thinking the problem is 'out there' when it is really with us. Realize that you are in control of your life, no one else is. It will be your choice to either react or respond. Reaction is without thought. Response requires thought. Always respond, never react.

Know. Be Known. Make A Difference!

Are You Stuck In Negativity?

How Do You Respond Or Do You React?

You Were Born To Win!

You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win. ~Zig Ziglar

YOU WERE BORN TO WIN!!! Do you realize that? Really? Most people just accept what they get without any thought of winning, just happy to be alive...Oh, they wish that they would win and sometimes they even win...but they don't have a winner's mindset. See, there are 3 things that you have to do to create a winner's mindset. 1. Plan 2. Prepare 3. Expect.

Sometimes we plan but most of the time we don't plan, or plan to win, because it takes some work to plan. It's said that "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." Cute wording but oh so true!! Yet there we are, just going about our day without planning, and reacting to everything that comes our way. Make a plan. Plan your work and then work your plan.

Be Prepared. The Boy Scout motto that we learned as kids...but do we continue it in our daily work? No, for the most part, we just kind of wing it, don't we. What is it that you are preparing for? Anything? Your next appointment? A new sales call? NO, after a few times, we think that we can just do it without preparation. Preparation creates confidence...and confidence is what makes good things happen for you.

Expectations. I train sales people and always, without a doubt, when I ask them if they expected to make the sale, they reply no. Why is that? They have never been taught that expectations create your reality. In fact, when they don't make the sale, the first thing they say is "I knew it." Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy!!! They knew they couldn't make the sale, but didn't think that they could make the sale...How screwed up is that?

Worry About Inaction!

"I never worry about action, but only about inaction." ~Winston Churchill

WOW, think about that! Churchill only worried about INACTION...not ACTION.

Think about the rest of us...what do we worry about? Action, right? We worry that we won't do it well enough, that someone might think we are not smart, that we are silly, that we are not business-like. RIGHT?

How can you change your mindset to worry about inaction instead of action? Are you willing to try? Do you see yourself as unique? If so, then let other people see your uniqueness! Don't wear a mask, let people see who you REALLY are.

What action have you not taken because you were worried about how it would be received? TAKE THAT ACTION NOW!! Worry about the inaction rather than the action.

Go back in history and think about how different the world would be today if Churchill hadn't taken action. Most of Europe would be speaking German today, not the 15 other languages that they do speak now. Who knows if the United States would have been pulled into the war? What if Germany had developed the nuclear bomb?

Never worry about action, but only about inaction.

How Do You Define Yourself?

"To a very large extent men and women are a product of how they define themselves. We come to have beliefs about the nature of being human. These beliefs penetrate to a very deep level of our psychosomatic systems, our minds and brains. We act, speak, and think according to these deeply held beliefs and belief systems." ~ Jeremy W. Hayward

How do you define yourself? A winner? A loser? A break-evener? Lucky? Unlucky? What other words do you use? Well, what ever words you use, you are a product of those words and how you define yourself. Think about the words that you use...are they uplifting or do they bring you down? Do they say what is right about what's going on or do they find the negative?

When was the last time you thought about the words that you say to and about yourself? Make sure that they aren't bringing you down. It's your choice to decide how to talk to yourself. Choose wisely.

Action:
Stop yourself when you start down the negative Nancy path. Choose to think only positive things about yourself and what you do. It is YOUR choice.

Entrenched Assumptions and Mindsets

“Routinely seek opinions from people who ‘know nothing’ on a subject. These can be the most refreshing sources of new information, since they are not entrenched in assumptions and mindsets.”~Jim Canterucci

Are you dealing with people who are entrenched in assumptions and mindsets? Are you that person? Most of us have our assumptions and mindsets but are yours really working for you? I mean really??

If you are doing what everyone else is doing, how are you different? How do people know that you are different, because you say you are?? Doesn't work, you need to show them you are different. Too many people and businesses try the "me too" style of business. They copy what the leaders are doing and say, "look at us, we do it the same way."

Be authentic. Be who you are, not who you think you have to be!

Action:
Today, when you are doing a regular part of your business, check and see if you can do it differently. See if there is a better way. Don't do it the same way because "we've always done it that way."

Decide to Become

"We become what we make our minds to become. It is nobody's fault that the great majority of the people never make up their minds to become anything at all."~William James

Have you made up your mind about what you want to become? What, you haven't yet? What's stopping you? What's holding you back? Why haven't you? You can become whatever you decide you want to become. At any time and any age!

I disagree with James as far as fault of the great majority of people, because now, with everything that we have available to us to learn, to grow and to think, it IS the fault of those who never make up their minds to become something. It is their responsibility to become what they want to become. It is not the responsibility of others to tell us what we should become or do.

Step out of your playing small ideas and thoughts and create the life that you truly want. Decide today to become who you want to become. Don't wait another minute...Do it NOW! What are you waiting for?

What is Your Personal Destiny?

"Picture in your mind a sense of personal destiny." ~Wayne Oats

Do U have a sense of personal destiny? We all have goals, but a sense of personal destiny???

What is your sense of a personal destiny? Is it a legacy? Is it your story until now? Your story from now on? Where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years? Not just based on your goals, but based on how you want your life to turn out.

When was the last time you thought of your personal destiny? Have you ever thought of your personal destiny? I have to admit, that I haven't in a long time. I've just kind of coasted through life without thinking about my personal destiny. What a mind challenge!!!

Start thinking about your personal destiny right now! Create in your mind what you want your personal destiny to be and start going after it. Don't coast through life without your personal destiny. Challenge yourself to start thinking about your personal destiny every day!

Everything starts with an idea. What is your idea of your personal destiny?

Plan Your Future

"We all have a future. Some people plan theirs."

Why is it that some people spend more time planning their vacations rather than their life? Who sold them that bill of goods that said you just have to deal with life and that you couldn't create your life just the way you create your vacations? Why have they bought into the "Life's hard, then you die" mindset?

Have YOU bought into that mindset?

Why or why not. Think about that and then see how it affects your day, your week, your month.

Spend some time every day creating your future. If you don't, then you are going to have to live with the reasons. In life, there are only Results and Reasons. Wouldn't you rather live with the results than the reasons?

"We all have a future. Some people plan theirs."
