Danger And Opportunity Are Inseperable

"Wherever there is danger, there lurks opportunity; whenever there is opportunity, there lurks danger. The two are inseparable. They go together." ~Earl Nightingale

Danger/Opportunity. Two side of the same coin. the question is, "Do you concentrate on the danger or the opportunity?" Well, which one rules your mind? Unfortunately, most people allow their fears and the PERCEIVED danger to rule their lives. I hope that's not you, because the opportunity is out there for everyone...not just the "lucky few."

Norman Vincent Peale said that "We tend to get what we expect." Are you expecting danger or opportunity? Really?  Your brain is not your friend.  It was designed to keep you safe, not to make the best decisions.  That's why most people tend to expect danger rather than opportunity.  To expect opportunity, you must retrain your brain to expect opportunity!

Opportunities surround us all the time. The key is to be looking for them and not the danger. When your mind is present, where you are, you will start to see opportunities everywhere. Be present. NOW. Challenge your brain to see the opportunities!

Don't allow fear and danger to rule your mind. Become an opportunian. I just made that word up but it means that your mind is open and looking for opportunities all around you.

Opportunity And Danger, Two Sides Of The Same Coin

"Wherever there is danger, there lurks opportunity. Wherever there is opportunity, there lurks danger. The two are inseparable. They go together."~Earl Nightingale

Are you stuck looking at the danger instead of the opportunity? Or do you only see opportunity and not the danger?

It all depends on your perceptions. Because "the reality of life is that your perceptions - right or wrong - influence everything else you do." Do you realize that? Your perceptions influence everything else that you do...So what are your perceptions? When was the last time that you examined your perceptions?

Have you ever examined them or do you just go about your day having them and reacting to them? If you have examined them, how often to you go back and examine them again? This needs to be a constant examination, but most of us prefer to just live life without thought or examination.

I can hear you saying, 'An examination was something we had to take in school, I'm done with that stuff.' If that's the case, then there will be no growth, no stretching beyond where you are now. You'll get to stay in your comfort/familiar zone and simply react to life rather than responding to life.

Take another look at your perceptions and make sure that they work for you rather than against you.

Is Your Aim Too Low?

"The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark."~Michelangelo

How high is your aim set? Is it higher than you can ever reach or is it just a little out of reach? Why? Too often our aim is set low, so that we can achieve it and feel good about ourselves, but if it's too low, it is fools gold. We know that we could have done more, made it bigger, made it better, but we settled.

Virginia Satir said "We must not allow other people's limited perceptions to define us." But too often, that is just what we do. Our friends, in an effort that they think is being friendly, don't push us, don't spur us on, don't encourage us to make it great. It is their limited perception of who you are that makes them do this. Don't allow it to stand. Friends like that are really not your friend.

Maybe you had a teacher or family member or someone who had a limited perception of who you were,  who said that "you can't do that," or "you'll never amount to anything," and you believed them. Banish that thought now. Create your new thought patterns with the belief that you can do whatever you put your mind to do. It is your choice to believe them or to believe yourself. Believe yourself!

You are a unique creation, with unlimited power and intelligence. What are you waiting for? Permission to become who you were meant to be? Well, if that's the case, I GIVE YOU PERMISSION!!

Aim Too High or Too Low?

"The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark."~Michelangelo

How high is your aim set? Is it higher than you can ever reach or is it just a little out of reach? Why? Too often our aim is set low, so that we can achieve it and feel good about ourselves, but if it's too low, it is fools gold. We know that we could have done more, made it bigger, made it better, but we settled.

Another of my favorite quotes says "The place for the thing you want is currently occupied by what you have settled for."  Are you settling?  Are you not being all you can be?  Are you playing small?

Virginia Satir said "We must not allow other people's limited perceptions to define us." But too often, that is just what we do. Our friends, in an effort that they think is being friendly, don't push us, don't spur us on, don't encourage us to make it great.
