Are You In The Right Frame Of Mind?

"In order to be more effective with others -- the most important thing we can do is make sure we're in the right frame of mind to begin with. To that end, the questions we ask OURSELVES make all the difference in the world." ~David Levin

Are you in the right frame of mind when you are dealing with people? Do you even think about it or do you just go and do it? Your attitude tells people far more than you words, so it might be something to start thinking about. What frame of mind do you want to have? Helpful? Inquisitive? Confrontational? Educational? There are many more, but have you thought about it? Sometimes the best thing to do is reschedule a meeting, especially if you aren't in the right frame of mind.

Here's something to consider as well...what frame of mind is the person you are meeting with in? Can you tell? It's a talent that most people haven't developed yet. If they are in a frame of mind that is anything but receptive or open, it might be best to ask them to reschedule.

Once, when I sold advertising for a large sports magazine, I had a meeting scheduled with an advertiser and their agency.  When I arrived, they were yelling at each other about who did what and why.  I walked into the room and they said, "Ok, what are YOU here to sell?"  "Nothing," I said, I won't be meeting with you today.  I can meet with you tomorrow morning at 9am and I will see you then," and walked out.  They were shocked...but at 9am the next morning, they were all there and we signed an agreement for their advertising for the next year.  I firmly believe that had I taken the meeting the day before, I would not have gotten the business...because of their frame of minds.

What are the questions you are asking yourself? Are you asking yourself any questions at all? Some people might but most people just go through the day without ever asking themselves the questions that will help them get to where they want to go. It is all about the questions that we ask ourselves.  As Tony Robbins said "Questions are the answer."

Wise Use Of YOUR Time

"Think highly enough of yourself to make wise and effective use of this day. Remember that every moment you fill is your own, precious, irreplaceable time."~Ralph Marston

Are you making wise and effective use of your time? Today? If not, then you don't think highly enough about  yourself. You get to choose. Taking action or procrastination. Making wise and effective use of the day or wasting the day.

Every moment is yours to fill. It's your choice what to do with it. No one else can make you do anything that you don't want to. It comes back to your choice of thinking highly enough about yourself or not. Do you think highly enough about yourself or are you allowing others to dictate your time? Don't let them, it's your choice.

John Randolph said "Time is at once the most valuable and the most perishable of all our possessions." How true that is. Think about that. We own 24 hours a day. Are you investing it or wasting it? Think about how easy it is to blow 15 minutes every couple of hours. It could add up to 3 or 4 hours a day that we fritter away and lose forever. Do you value time as your most valuable possession? Most people don't.

Start making wise and effective use of your time...TODAY!! It's your choice to use your time in the way you see as best. Make sure that you are choosing well. Start treating time as your greatest possession!

Yes, It Really Is That Easy!

"The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine."~Mike Murdock

Can it really be that easy? Yes, it can. The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. So, that being the case, what is your daily routine? Is it serving you or hurting you? How often do you even consider your daily routine?

Too often we keep doing the same things over and over again and expect different results. Maybe if I try  harder...Maybe if I work longer...but doing the same things. Einstein called that INSANITY!

The best thing about this is the fact that you can change your daily routine today! Right now! You don't need to remain stuck in that old, depressing routine, you can change it!

If your business is slow now, look back a couple of months and take a look at the effort that you put in then. It's really easy to see how effective you were then, based on the results that you get today.

"The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine." If you aren't succeeding like you want to, look at your daily routine.  If you need some ideas on doing things differently, message or call me.

It's Simple But Not Easy

"The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine."~ Mike Murdock

Can it really be that easy? Yes, it can. The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. So, that being the case, what is your daily routine? Is it serving you or hurting you? Are you doing what it takes to be successful each day or are you just doing what you have always done?  How often do you even consider your daily routine?

The best thing about this is the fact that you can change your daily routine today! Right now! You don't need to remain stuck in that old, depressing routine, you can change it!  It is in your power to make this change.  Will you make the change for the better or stay stuck doing the same things over and over and expecting different results?

What Questions Are You Asking Yourself?

"In order to be more effective with others -- the most important thing we can do is make sure we're in the right frame of mind to begin with. To that end, the questions we ask OURSELVES make all the difference in the world."~David Levin

Are you in the right frame of mind when you are dealing with people? Do you even think about it or do you just go and do it? There are many more, but have you thought about it? Sometimes the best thing to do is reschedule a meeting, especially if you aren't in the right frame of mind because you could blow the opportunity

Here's something to consider as well...what frame of mind is the person you are meeting with in? Can you tell? It's a talent that most people haven't developed yet. If they are in a frame of mind that is anything but receptive or open, it might be best to ask them to reschedule.

When I was Sales Director for Runner's World Magazine, I walked into a meeting with a client and their agency.  The client people were yelling at the agency people who were yelling back! I calmly introduced myself and said, "We cannot meet today, I will return tomorrow at the same time and we will conduct our business then."  Had I tried to make the meeting happen when they were yelling at each other, I never would have gotten the business.  By taking into account the frame of mind of the people I was meeting with, I was able to create business where there was no business before.

So, what are the questions you are asking yourself? Are you asking yourself any questions at all? Some people might but most people just go through the day without ever asking themselves the questions that will help them get to where they want to go. It is all about the questions that we ask ourselves.
