You Have A Choice

"You may not be able to control the events that occur during the day, especially those events that are unexpected and challenging. But, you definitely have a choice whether you are going to allow these events to ruin your day, and how you are going to face these challenges." ~Barry Gottlieb

Do you ever get up "on the wrong side of the bed?" Ever had a "bad hair day?"  Ever feel like everything is going wrong and it will never get better?  How do you handle them? Do you let them ruin your day or do you change your mindset before leaving the house? You do have a choice in how you respond to those events. Be sure to exercise that choice. Don't stay stuck in that negativity.

Too many people have allowed themselves to stay stuck in that negativity.  They enjoy being there!  It's the pain they know which will always be less than the pain they don't know.  If that's you, start counting your blessings.  You're alive.  You live in the greatest country in the world (the one everyone else in the world wants to come to) and so on.  You could probably count 100 blessings in 5 minutes.  Well, that 5 minutes would be the best time spent to get you out of that negativity.

Stephen Covey said "If you start to think the problem is 'out there,' stop yourself. That thought is the problem." Too often we get caught up in thinking the problem is 'out there' when it is really with us. Realize that you are in control of your life, no one else is. It will be your choice to either react or respond. Reaction is without thought. Response requires thought. Always respond, never react.

Know. Be Known. Make A Difference!

Rewrite All The Rules!

“What’s the most resilient parasite? An idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules.” ~From Inception the movie

What is your most resilient parasite? What idea can you just not get away from? What idea dominates your thinking? And what have you done about it? Nothing? Why???

Nothing has ever been created without first a thought. That is where everything starts. What thoughts are you letting dominate your thinking? Thoughts of lack? Thoughts of fear? Thoughts of negativity? Or thoughts of abundance, thoughts of action and thoughts of positivity?

See, we get to decide what we think about. No one else can make us think about anything unless we allow it in. Have a negative friend? Don't hang with them! Have a family member that's always talking you down? Distance yourself. It's you choice as to who to hang with...choose wisely!

Action:
Today, choose wisely what to let into your thinking. What resilient parasite you want crawling around your brain. It is, after all, your choice!

Know. Be Known. Make A Difference!

Attitude vs. Circumstance

"All the water in the world cannot drown you unless it gets inside of you.” ~Eleanor Roosevelt

No matter what the problem, financial situation, history or whatever difficulty is around you --let it be around you. It's a circumstance. It's around you but is not meant to control or determine your attitude. Are you letting it control your attitude?

Our attitude comes from our state of mind, and the state of our heart. Let us keep our mind and our heart focused on gratitude and appreciation. Gratitude is a harmonious vibration with abundance. When you are grateful, you get more things to be grateful about.

All the water in the world can be around us and we can float on top of it, swim in it and play in it. It doesn't have to drown us because we view it only as a circumstance, something that can't control our attitudes...unless we let it.

Action:
Realize that circumstances can't control your attitude or actions. It is a choice that you have as to how to deal with each circumstance. Don't let it negatively affect you.

Your Habits of Thinking

“Habits of thinking need not be forever. One of the most significant findings in psychology in the last twenty years is that individuals can choose the way they think.”~Martin Seligman

Did you realize that? Habits of thinking need not be forever! How freeing is that statement? What new thought could you be thinking right now?

You can choose the way you think! You don't have to listen to the thoughts that are in your mind right now, unless you want to...If you choose to stay stuck in the negative thoughts that surround you, you can...but IT IS YOUR CHOICE!

Here's the challenge: 80% of the thoughts that we have today are the same thoughts that we had yesterday. That can be a little depressing until you realize that you can choose to think what you want to think, not just what comes into your mind! Of those repeat 80% of our thoughts, 85% of those are NEGATIVE! Wow, we are thinking the same thing day after day and most of the things that we are thinking are negative!!!

But there is a way out of this negative Merry-go-round. You can choose your thoughts. You can choose your thoughts. You can choose your thoughts. Choose new thoughts, NOW! You have the power! Choose.

New Thoughts

Are you thinking new things? Research says no. They've found that 85% of the thoughts that you think today, were the thoughts that you thought yesterday...Wow, talk about being stuck in "Groundhog Day!"

At least Bill Murray realized it and took advantage of his situation in the movie, do you realize it? Do you see how your thought patterns repeat over and over?

And now for the really bad part...80% of those repeated thoughts are NEGATIVE! And you wondered why it was so difficult to maintain a positive attitude. Make a change today and think wildly outrageous thoughts, thoughts you never would have imagined, thoughts that challenge your way of thinking and beliefs. I challenge you to try...

If you are wanting to create big life changes, you will have to start with your thoughts. Everything starts with a thought, nothing can happen without thought. Think about it.

"Thinking brand new thoughts that you've never thought before is wildly more conducive to creating big life changes than just thinking different varieties of the same old thoughts."

Have to or Want to

"It's always so hard when I have to, and so easy when I want to."~Annie Gottlier

What a great quote. Do you realize when you struggle, most of the time it's because you believe that you HAVE to? It may not be there case, but you believe it. Think back to your last struggle. Was it because your didn't want to do it?

How can you change your mind about how you feel? Do you ever think about that? The best way I feel is to have an internal conversation with you nattering nabob of negativity. As you have this conversation, when the negative comes up again, say "Thank you for sharing, but I reject that idea." That's all. the more you tell your subconscious that you acknowledge the feeling but reject the belief, it will become less powerful over you until one day, it will be gone.

What a great thought, all I have to do to make it easy is to want to do it!

"It's always so hard when I have to, and so easy when I want to."
